The Indian markets showed signs of recovery in the week of January 13-20. While the BSE Sensex remained unchanged, the BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices were up around 2.5 per cent. The BSE IT index was the biggest loser--down more than 4 per cent--weighed down by the disappointing results of HCL Tech and Infosys. The Power, Metal, and PSU index were the lead gainers, up more than 7 per cent.
