Summary: Many small-cap stocks rise on sentiment. But a select few do on real profits. We found three that have compounded investor wealth between 10 to 46 times in the past five years, with the earnings to justify their rise. Find them in the story below.

Small caps are where the market’s wildest swings—and its biggest fortunes—are made. The segment is risky, volatile and often speculative, yet it’s also where genuine wealth creation quietly compounds. The trick is separating the fireworks from the fundamentals: finding stocks that didn’t rise on sentiment alone but on the back of serious earnings growth.

To locate such rare combinations, we turned to the Value Research Stock Screener and sliced the small-cap universe with three demanding filters:

  • Market cap above Rs 1,500 crore to avoid the tiniest, most erratic names
  • Five-year annual earnings per share (EPS) growth above 50 per cent for a strong and sustained profit engine
  • Five-year annual return of above 50 per cent to spot the wealth creators

This first pass threw up 46 names. To narrow the universe further, we sorted them by Value Research Quality Score, selecting only those with a perfect 10 out of 10—companies that score strongly on balance sheet strength and governance.

That left just three.

These small caps have delivered blistering compounding on the back of solid earnings growth. Their stock prices have multiplied between 10 to 46 times in the last five years, while EPS growth has expanded several-fold in parallel—a combination that’s as rare as it is powerful.

Below, we spotlight these names—not as recommendations, but as case studies of what high-quality small-cap wealth creation looks like. They serve as starting points for deeper research, not shortcuts to instant decisions.
