How can I decide whether to opt for a direct plan or a regular one?

It entirely depends on your requirements. If you need hand-holding, then go to an advisor or a mutual fund agent and you will be given a regular plan. However, if you are able to invest online and choose your fund and stay on course, then go for a direct plan.

Direct variants have lower expenses as compared to regular ones, which helps them generate a little more return over a period of time.
