Dhirendra Kumar discusses the benefits of international investing for a retiree

Does it make sense for a retired person to invest in international funds?
- AK Agarwal
Yes. In fact, it makes more sense because a retired person should have some allocation to equity. And if you are investing in equity, you should be investing in international funds. The reason is that equity is the only promise for you to beat inflation. By solely investing in fixed-income options, you lose that opportunity. You might get a safe return, but the ability of your money to protect its worth diminishes. So, if you should be investing in equity, you should be investing in international funds.
