About Sundaram Consumption Fund - Direct Plan
Sundaram Consumption Fund - Direct Plan is a equity mutual fund scheme of Sundaram Mutual Fund. Launched on January 01, 2013, it is currently managed by Rohit Seksaria and Anuj Bansal. The fund has an expense ratio of 1.26% with an overall AUM (Assets Under Management) of ₹1,294 Cr.
Sundaram Consumption Fund - Direct Plan is mandated to invest at least 80 per cent of its assets in the shares of consumer-facing companies. The fund allows minimum lumpsum investment of ₹100 and minimum SIP of ₹100.

The scheme seeks to generate long term capital appreciation by investing in a portfolio of companies that are likely to benefit directly from consumption led demand in India.

Note:
- Invest only through SIP
Capital Gains Taxation
- If the mutual fund units are sold after 1 year from the date of investment, gains upto Rs 1.25 lakh in a financial year are exempt from tax. Gains over Rs 1.25 lakh are taxed at the rate of 12.5%.
- If the mutual fund units are sold within 1 year from the date of investment, entire amount of gain is taxed at the rate of 20%.
- No tax is to be paid as long as you continue to hold the units.
