About HDFC Mid Cap Fund - Direct Plan
HDFC Mid Cap Fund - Direct Plan is a equity mutual fund scheme of HDFC Mutual Fund. Launched on January 01, 2013, it is currently managed by Chirag Setalvad. The fund has an expense ratio of 0.80% with an overall AUM (Assets Under Management) of ₹85,358 Cr.
HDFC Mid-Cap Opportunities Fund - Direct Plan is mandated to invest at least 65 per cent of its assets in mid-cap stocks at all times. The fund allows minimum lumpsum investment of ₹100 and minimum SIP of ₹100.
Investment Strategy
The scheme seeks to provide long-term capital appreciation/income by investing predominantly in Mid-Cap companies.

Note:
- Invest only through SIP
Capital Gains Taxation
- If the mutual fund units are sold after 1 year from the date of investment, gains upto Rs 1.25 lakh in a financial year are exempt from tax. Gains over Rs 1.25 lakh are taxed at the rate of 12.5%.
- If the mutual fund units are sold within 1 year from the date of investment, entire amount of gain is taxed at the rate of 20%.
- No tax is to be paid as long as you continue to hold the units.
