Kotak Mahindra Mutual Fund has introduced a new plan under Kotak Liquid, namely, Kotak Liquid Sweep Plan effective August 2, 2004. The asset portfolio of this new plan will be the same as that of Kotak Liquid. The crucial difference, however, is that it is intended exclusively for eligible account holders of Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited.
The entry load on all Equity and Balanced Schemes of Kotak Mutual Fund has also been modified. In addition to purchases made by a Fund of Fund scheme, through the RIF facility, transfers from an Equity or Balanced scheme of the Fund and units allotted on reinvestment of dividends – henceforth purchases made by FIIs and sub account of an FII would also attract zero entry load. For all the others (i.e., purchase or transfer amount less than Rs 2 crores and those not covered in any of the above-mentioned categories), the entry load has been increased from 2 per cent to 2.25 per cent of the applicable NAV. Moreover, FII investments have also been exempted from any exit load unlike other investors availing of the RIF where the existing provision of an exit load of 1 per cent if redeemed before 1 year will prevail.
The exit load structure of Kotak Mahindra Income Plus Scheme has also been modified. Henceforth, redemption before 6 months from the date of purchase, of investments below Rs 10 lakhs, will attract an exit load of 0.5 per cent. Earlier, this cut-off investment amount was less than Rs 25 lakhs.
