Periyasamy KS, one of our Value Research Premium subscribers, asks, "What is the difference between Balanced Advantage Fund and Equity Saver? Would the equity saver be the best bet compared to a balanced advantage fund?"
Equity savings funds are hybrid mutual fund schemes that carry moderate risks. The risk in these funds is lower than the aggressive hybrid funds. On the other hand, balanced advantage funds (or dynamic asset allocation) are mutual fund schemes that invest in a mix of debt and equity. They adjust their equity exposure based on market valuation.
To better understand, you can watch this video where Ashutosh Gupta of Value Research clearly differentiates between the two.
