This fund of funds (FOF) routes investors' money into its ETF variant - Motilal Oswal Nasdaq 100 ETF. The underlying fund tracks the Nasdaq 100 Index (a US index), which comprises the 100 largest non-financial companies listed on the Nasdaq stock exchange based on their market capitalisation. The AMC pioneered in launching a Nasdaq 100-based ETF in India way back in 2011 and rolled out the FOF variant in late 2018 to make it convenient for people to invest in the index without the need of a demat and a trading account, which are a must while investing in an ETF.
