Sundaram Mutual Fund has launched its latest investment scheme, the Sundaram Multi-Factor Fund, an open-ended equity fund designed to harness returns through a multi-factor investment strategy. The fund employs a systematic, rule-based approach utilising five key factors – Quality, Growth, Momentum, Value, and Size – to select stocks. With this structured methodology, the fund aims to provide investors with diversified exposure and superior risk-adjusted returns across various market cycles.
The New Fund Offer (NFO) opens for subscription from July 2 to July 16, 2025, and will reopen for continuous subscription or redemption starting July 28, 2025. The fund's strategy involves investing in the top 25 stocks identified within each of the specified factors from an investment universe of the 250 largest companies. Stocks will be ranked according to these factors and rebalanced periodically every quarter.
Mr. Anand Radhakrishnan, Managing Director of Sundaram Asset Management, emphasised that by transforming traditional active management decisions into repeatable rules, the Sundaram Multi-Factor Fund seeks consistency and transparency, making it efficient for investors. Rohit Seksaria and Bharath S will manage the equity portion, while Dwijendra Srivastava and Sandeep Agarwal will oversee fixed-income investments.
Targeted at investors seeking long-term capital appreciation, the Sundaram Multi-Factor Fund maintains an equity allocation between 80 per cent and 100 per cent. Fixed income, money market securities, and REITs/InVITs can constitute up to 20 per cent. The fund has set the minimum initial investment at Rs 100, with a systematic investment plan (SIP) starting at Rs 1,000 per week or Rs 100 per month.
With Sundaram Asset Management holding an AUM of Rs 73,998 crores, this fund launch reinforces its position as a significant retail-focused player in India’s asset management industry.
