Hero Motors, incorporated in April 1998 as Hero Briggs & Stratton Auto and renamed Hero Motors after its joint venture ended in 2001, has evolved from component manufacturing into a fully integrated automotive-technology and powertrain supplier for electric and conventional mobility. Its operations are organized into Powertrain Solutions—covering Gears & Transmissions for automotive and mobility applications and Bike Powertrain for e-bikes, bicycles and e-scooters—and Alloys & Metallics, which supplies sheet-metal and tubular assemblies. The product and service portfolio includes ICE and EV gearboxes, precision gears and shafts, CVTs, e-axles, electric motors, integrated electric-drive units, gearset assemblies, alloy frames, suspension forks, wheel rims, bottom-bracket cartridges and seats, supported by design, prototyping, validation, development and manufacturing capabilities. Its distinctive strengths are end-to-end system expertise, the ability to serve diverse applications—from two-wheelers and performance vehicles to off-road, heavy-duty, hybrid and eVTOL platforms—and specialized e-bike powertrain offerings, including CVT hubs and integrated electric drives. Important customers and platform partners include BMW, Ducati, Hero MotoCorp, Formula Motorsport, HWA and enviolo, with products supplied across India, Europe, the United States and ASEAN markets. Hero Motors’ client approach is collaborative and engineering-led, working with OEMs from concept through validation and serial production to address requirements for efficiency, electrification, reliability and cost-effective localization in changing mobility markets.
