Can a PPF A/C be transferred from Post Office to a Public Sector Bank?
-Abani Kumar Banerjee

To transfer your PPF account from post office to a public sector or private sector bank, you need to submit an application at the post office for transfer, mentioning details of the bank where you wish to transfer PPF account. Once the application is processed, the post office will send the concerned documents to the bank which, in turn, will ask you to submit a fresh PPF account opening form, along with your original PPF account passbook. However, you might have to follow up with both the entities to inquire about the time frame required to complete such transfer.
