Our core focus is to continuously improve fund performance, reduce risk and expand to tier II cities, says Saurabh Nanavati of Religare Invesco Mutual Fund

A year into the joint venture with the US-based Invesco, Religare Invesco fund house is working towards positioning itself as a global AMC. In the pipeline are plans to launch feeder funds into global funds of Invesco for Indian retail investors. There are also plans to launch Indian Fixed Income and Equity strategies on global platforms for Invesco's global clients and distributors.

Saurabh Nanavati, the MD and CEO, emphasised the focus on continuously improving fund performance and reducing risk. In order to increase its reach, the fund house is focusing on tier II centres and has increased its own sales presence in over 60 cities. With a strong belief that mutual funds have a big opportunity as awareness increases in these smaller cities, the fund house feels investment strategy should be simple and easy to monitor.

A strong votary of the investor education initiatives, the fund house's initiatives include on-ground events, educational guides, besides digital and print media campaigns. So far 63 investor camps across 51 cities have been organised.
