The January 2014 issue of Wealth Insight is now out. This issue is entirely dedicated to the one opportunity on the Indian equity markets that investors pay least attention to, which is India's public sector units (PSUs).
PSUs generally get a bad name among investors, and to a considerable extent this is justified. It's hardly a secret that the Government of India is a capricious manager of businesses and its decisions are generally driven by logic that has little to do with business. However, we believe that this has actually produced a pocket of value in a small number of PSUs that investors would do well to exploit.
Sure, there are systemic negatives in PSUs, but the equity markets generally over-discount these negatives and thus leave a very useful space for investors who are willing to overcome the anti-PSU prejudice and carefully look for value.
The January 2014 issue is dedicated to this quest for value. Our research team has selected 26 public sector stocks that merit serious consideration. The issue has a detailed analyses of these companies, including business prospects, problems, as well as the stock's dynamics.
