We have consciously distinguished our communication and literature between retail and institutional investors, says Harshendu Bindal of Franklin Templeton Mutual Fund

This industry pioneer has weathered market and economic cycles over the past two decades with some stellar offerings. Bindal, the President of Franklin Templeton Mutual Fund credits this to the AMC's long term perspective and sticking to the fundamentals.

The fund house through its FT Academy (FTA) has been involved in investor education in an active way. Bindal believes such initiatives also need to encompass distributor education programmes. Moreover, the fund house has adopted a holistic approach that straddles investment excellence, engaged distribution, leveraging technology and meeting client needs through existing and new products.

The AMC is now looking to refocus its energies to take advantage of the opportunities thrown up by the regulatory changes and in the coming years is planning to roll out new initiatives focused on the digital and mobile space. On the product front, plans are afoot to further expand the fixed income and offshore range and introduce new offerings that leverage the fund house's global investment capabilities.

Total assets: Rs 44,812 crore, Net profit: Rs 89.71 crore (Sep'12)
