Mankind Pharma may post strong 27 per cent YoY revenue growth in Q4 FY25, but profit and margins could come under pressure due to higher costs and weak seasonality.
Mankind Pharma is set to report its Q4 FY2025 results on May 21, with analysts projecting a strong revenue performance but subdued profitability. According to Bloomberg consensus estimates, consolidated revenue for the January-March 2025 quarter is expected to rise nearly 27 per cent year-on-year to Rs 3,095-3,100 crore, driven by robust branded generics demand and the full-quarter contribution from its Bharat Serums & Vaccines (BSV) acquisition.
However, despite the top-line surge, net profit is forecast to decline 22 per cent to Rs 366 crore, compared to Rs 471 crore in Q4 FY2024. EBITDA is expected to rise 16 per cent to Rs 791.3 crore, while EBITDA margin may compress to 25.6 per cent from 28.0 per cent a year earlier -- indicating cost pressures and operating deleverage.
Sequentially, the results may appear slightly weaker. Mankind reported revenue of Rs 3,230 crore and net profit of Rs 380.2 crore in Q3 FY2025, while Q2 numbers stood higher at Rs 3,076.5 crore and Rs 653.5 crore respectively. The January-March quarter is typically seasonally weaker for acute-care drugmakers, further contributing to margin contraction.
Rising interest expenses following the BSV deal and elevated input costs are also expected to weigh on the bottom line. Brokerages have flagged tariff-related risks and the potential for continued margin pressure in the near term.
Valuation & Market Performance
On Value Research Online, Mankind Pharma holds a 4-star stock rating with the following component scores:
- Quality: 10/10
- Growth: 7/10
- Momentum: 6/10
- Valuation: 3/10
The perfect Quality score reflects strong fundamentals and earnings consistency, while the Growth score highlights its above-average sales expansion. However, a low Valuation score (3/10) suggests the stock remains expensive relative to earnings potential.
Mankind Pharma shares have rallied from a 52-week low of Rs 1,901 to a high of Rs 3,054, and currently trade around Rs 2,600 -- a gain of ~21 per cent over the past year. The moderate Momentum score indicates investor interest may have cooled somewhat ahead of the results.
What to Watch
As Q4 results approach, investor focus will be on margin resilience and management's forward guidance. Any negative surprises on profitability or commentary may trigger profit-booking, especially given the stock's high valuation. On the flip side, upbeat margin trends or strong domestic market momentum could support further gains.
Overall, the Q4 preview paints a mixed picture: while revenue growth remains robust, margin compression and valuation concerns may cap near-term upside for Mankind Pharma.
