
Value Research is releasing ratings for multi-cap funds for the first time, following the completion of three years for 10 such funds. With five stars, Nippon India Multi Cap Fund is the class topper, while Quant Active scrapes the barrel at the other end, as seen in the table below. Multi-cap funds: A quick history 2020 SEBI regulations: 'Forced mandates' by SEBI for multi-cap funds, required them to allocate at least 25 per cent each to large, mid and small caps. Flexi cap or multi cap: Initially, many viewed the distinction between flexi-cap and multi-cap funds as redundant, as flexi-cap funds could invest freely across market caps.
