Since 2008, I have been investing Rs 33,000 every month in mutual funds. At first, I had 8 funds in my portfolio, but I have trimmed my holdings to 5 now. The funds I hold now are HDFC Equity, HDFC Top 200, UTI Dividend Yield, DSP BlackRock Top 100 and Sundaram SMILE. The funds that I discontinued were ICICI Prudential Focused Bluechip, Reliance Growth and Franklin India Bluechip, but I still have Rs 2 lakh invested in them. Is my portfolio diversified or does it need any changes? My investment horizon is of 10 years. - Rajkumar
You're currently investing in well-performing funds, and you should continue investing despite the volatile markets, like you've already been doing. The portfolio is made up of good funds that give you diversification across market capitalizations as well as investment styles. The amount that you hold in the 3 funds that you discontinued can also be moved to the funds you currently hold. Keep investing; you're on the right track.
