Promoted by leading brokerage house Motilal Oswal that has interests in broking, investment management, wealth management and other financial services, the AMC has the advantage of automatic reach and distribution. The changed business environment after the entry load ban resulted in the AMC being slow to take off on new products. Its first fund, an ETF, was launched in 2010 which invests in a basket of 50 stocks, which is a weighted basket based on S&P CNX Nifty Index. Yet to evolve with a full product suite, the AMC is going slow and working on innovative schemes.
