A Balanced Portfolio

HDFC Prudence & HDFC MIP Long-term are good funds to have. Find out if you can hold them together…

I am investing in HDFC Prudence and HDFC MIP Long-term via monthly SIPs. Should I continue with these investments or switch to other funds?
-Jinesh

Both of your funds belong to different categories. If we look at them together as a portfolio, these two funds combined together will have around 50 per cent of their assets invested in equities. HDFC MIP Long-term is on an average about 30 per cent into equity, while HDFC Prudence is normally about 70 per cent into equity, so by combining these two funds, you get a balanced portfolio. If you're investing for the long-term and seeking stable returns, both are good funds to have. Keep investing in them.
