Reviewing Funds

It is important to review your funds on a yearly basis. Also consider tax implications before redeeming them…

What are your views about investments in Fidelity funds? I have invested in DSP BlackRock Top 100, HDFC Top 200, HDFC Equity and ICICI Prudential Focused Bluechip. I am investing for my retirement in 2-3 years, so till when should I continue investing and when should I start redeeming? Should I review my funds on a yearly basis?

There is no need to worry about your investments in Fidelity mutual funds right now. We still don’t have a clear picture about the AMC’s future, whether they will sell their Indian arm or not. Right now, you should continue investing in Fidelity’s funds if they're fulfilling your requirements.
Coming to your other query, since you're investing for your retirement, don’t redeem your investments right now if you won't be dependent on them for your income. If you would be requiring a regular income from your investments after retirement, then you should be start redeeming your money gradually.

You should review your mutual fund investments on a yearly basis. Whenever you review your funds and think about redeeming them, consider the tax implications as well as transaction fees that would be applicable.
