I am 35 and have started investing through monthly SIPs of Rs 3,000 in HDFC Top 200, HDFC Equity, ICICI Prudential Focused Bluechip Equity; Rs 2,000 in DSPBR Top 100 Equity and Rs 4,000 in IDFC Premier Equity Fund. My target is to invest Rs 15,000 for the next 15 years to build Rs 1 crore. Will these funds achieve my goal?

If your investment of Rs 15,000 earns an annualised return of 15 per cent, you will accumulate Rs 1 crore in 15 years. You have selected good funds with an impeccable track record and consistently high fund rating. Make sure you track the performance of the funds that you are investing in regularly because mutual fund investments are subject to risks and a fund that performs well today need not do so forever. Assess the progress made by your investments at least once a year to rebalance your portfolio and reassess your investments.
