Investing For Targets

Invest systematically & track your portfolio's performance regularly to achieve your goals…

I am 27 years old and want to build a corpus of Rs 25 lakh when I turn 40. How much should I start investing now, to reach this target?

Systematic and regular investments are the way to achieve your investment target. If you invest in a portfolio that earns an annualised 12 per cent returns, you can achieve your goal by investing Rs 6,660 every month. If the same portfolio earns 15 per cent, you need to invest Rs 5,200. This should be possible if you invest in a large cap fund such as DSPBR Top 100 Equity or Franklin India Bluechip as well as large- and mid-cap fund such as HDFC Top 200 or Fidelity India Growth. However, make sure you invest regularly and also track the performance of the funds you invest at least once a year to make any changes in them if necessary.
