Disappointing AUM growth: The distribution business, especially the IFAs, has been under pressure. I would assume it is a question of time that distribution picks up and at the same time there could also be a need to look at a course correction so as to facilitate the distributors reach to work in favour of reaching more number of people.
State of the market: The current bull run reflects the confidence, improvement in economy, corporate finance and significant flow of money from overseas investments. Overseas investments are driven by the confidence in the Indian economy. Indian investors should also show the same faith.
The road ahead: We have been focusing on increasing the retail participation in both categories, fixed income as well as equity. We continue to believe that mutual funds can serve the interest of individuals and the nation to fully realize the India story.
My investing style: I believe in equity as an asset class and currently 40 per cent of my take home pay is dedicated to equities through SIPs.
