Wipro Ltd, India's third-largest software services exporter, posted a 4 percent rise in quarterly profit under US GAAP rules, beating forecasts.
This IT solutions company reported a net profit in its fourth quarter to 31 March, 2009 at Rs 9.1 billion, from Rs 8.75 billion reported a year ago.
And per the filing with the BSE, Wipro in its consolidated results has reported a 14.77 per cent rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 1,010 crore for the fourth quarter ended March, 2009.
Total income surged 13.55 per cent at Rs 6,583.20 crore in the March quarter from Rs 5,797.40 crore in the same period last fiscal.
The board has declared a dividend of Rs 4 a share.
