SBI Funds Management Private Limited (SBIFMPL), a joint venture between State Bank of India and Societe Generale (SGAM), the latter’s equity fund would now be headed by R. Srinivasan.
Srinivasan who brings along a 16-year experience in financial services would be designated as Senior Fund Manager (Equity). He would join office on May 11.
Prior to this assignment, Srinivasan was heading ‘Public Markets’ at Future Capital Holdings, asset management and financial services of the Future Group apart from working with Principal PNB AMC as a portfolio manager and with Oppenheimer & Company, (now Blackstone).
At SBI MF, Srinivasan would now manage funds like Magnum Global Fund, Magnum Equity Fund, Magnum Sector Funds Umbrella - Emerging Business Fund and SBI Infrastructure Fund – Series I.
The joint venture is amongst the leading Asset Management Companies (AMC) in India with total Assets under Management (AUM) of Rs 30,875.01 crore as on April 2009.
SBI Mutual Fund has an investor base of over 57 lakh investors apart from having a large network of over 29 investor service centers, 50 investor service desks, 55 district organizers and 80 business associates covering over 200 points of acceptance.
