The last one year has been very volatile. However, given the conservative stance the AMC had taken, we are happy that the funds have managed to deliver an excellent investment experience across equity and debt products.

'The ability to take pain is our USP'

Over the last one year, we have been recommending investors to opt for balanced-advantage category of funds. In terms of market capitalisation, our view was to go for large caps over mid and small caps. Both these calls played out well for investors. When it comes to thematic investments, we were positive on pharma and export-oriented funds and this has worked out well for our investors. We are happy that most of our funds are in the top quartile, delivering positive investment experience.

Opportunity is infinite as thus far only 1.7 crore investors have on-boarded the mutual fund investment vehicle when compared to several more crores of potential investors. So, distribution expansion is a must to reach out to all these individual investors. Eighty-five per cent of our business comes through distribution partners who have also grown with us.

We are further investing in enhancing distributor capabilities by way of empowering them and achieving scale through usage of digital mediums and advanced analytics. Further, we conduct trainings related to our product offerings, coupled with relevant product communication.
