Lenders generally don't allow modifications to a home loan. Once you agree to the set terms proposed by your home loan provider, it is difficult to change them. However, you should contact your bank to check. The other option, in case it's really important for you to add your spouse's name, is to refinance and take out a new mortgage jointly.
