If I open an account in senior citizen saving scheme before 30th March 2016, what interest would I get - 9.3 per cent or 8.6 per cent?

The interest rate of 9.3 percent on Senior Citizen Savings Scheme (SCSS) is applicable till March 31st 2016. So, if you open an account before the 31st March 2016, the rate of interest applicable for quarterly payout for 5 years will be 9.3 percent.
