Should I wait for budget?

If you are investing in equity mutual fund schemes, it is always better to spread your investments across a few months or up to a year

I would like to invest ₹5 lakh in two or more mutual fund schemes. Should I invest now or wait until the budget?

Your question is incomplete. You haven't mentioned crucial information like your investment objective, investment horizon, etc. We are offering you a general advice. There is no point in waiting for an event like budget before starting your investment, especially if you are investing for a long period. Unless you are expecting something that would have a direct impact on your investment, proceed with your investment plan. If you are investing in equity mutual fund schemes, it is always better to spread your investments across a few months or up to a year. This will help you to avoid committing the entire money at a higher level in the market.
