Direct plan vs regular plans

If you need help with your investments, you should approach a mutual fund advisor and invest in a regular plan

Can you please elaborate on the difference between direct plans and regular plans of mutual funds? What are the merits and demerits of each? Which is more suitable?

Direct plans allow investors to invest directly with a mutual fund and save on commissions. This saving would results in better returns over a long period. However, you should opt for them only if you can take care of your entire investments without the help of a mutual fund advisor. If you need help with your investments, you should approach a mutual fund advisor and invest in a regular plan.
