Term insurance without medical check-up

A recent amendment to the Insurance Act states that no life insurance company can deny a claim three years after the issuance of a life insurance policy

I bought a term insurance cover of ₹50 lakh from HDFC Life three years ago. Even though I had requested for a medical check-up at that time, it was not done. Would it be possible me to ask for a medical test now? Or is it a better idea to cancel the term insurance and take a new one?

It is possible that your cover didn't require a medical check-up as per the guidelines followed by the company. You don't have to ask the company again for a health check-up. If you did not hide or suppress any facts, you should not bother much. A recent amendment to the Insurance Act states that no life insurance company can deny a claim three years after the issuance of a life insurance policy. Just keep paying the premiums on time and enjoy the cover.
