How to get KYC done?

KYC is a one-time activity that is a must to transact in a mutual fund. Here is the KYC registration process

I am planning to invest ₹2,000 through a monthly SIP in Axis Long Term Equity Fund. I am a first time investor and I have been researching on ELSS funds for the past few weeks. During my research I came to know that an investor should submit KYC documents to begin investments in mutual funds. Please help me with the following questions:

  1. What is process of completing KYC documentations?
  2. Will Axis Bank or the bank through which I am going to pay my monthly SIP amount will help me in this ?
  3. Is there any kind of fee for this KYC procedure?
