Investing in Direct plan through broker?

Brokers get commission from AMCs for there services. For the same reason they do not provide direct plans...

Can we invest in MF Direct Scheme through demat account? I have a ICICIDirect account, but I do not see options for Direct scheme.

You can invest in funds through demat account, but not in direct plan of the scheme. ICICI Direct is a broker and gets commission from AMCs for its services. For the same reason it does not provide direct plans. Direct plans are meant for investors to directly contact the AMC and invest without distributors.

Also, you can purchase and hold units of mutual fund schemes of only those AMCs with which your broker has a tie-up.
