We often wonder how much health insurance cover one should buy. With medical costs rising every day, this question has become even more critical. As a result, many insurers are launching healthcare policies offering as much as Rs 1 crore coverage. But do you really need such a high cover? What does a Rs 1 crore cover offer? A Rs 1 crore health insurance policy is no different from a standard policy, except for the much higher coverage limit. It covers hospitalisation expenses, doctor consultations, surgeries and major treatments. It also comes with benefits such as no restrictions on hospital room categories. However, exclusions remain the same as regular policies. It doesn't count for cosmetic procedures, weight loss treatments and routine dental or vision care (except cataract surgery).
