From where can a non-government employee invest for a pension?
- Nishant

The National Pension System (NPS) has numerous designated points-of-sale, which are nationalised banks like the State Bank of India and brokerages like ICICI Direct. You can open an NPS account at any of these banks and give standing instructions to deduct a particular amount from your savings account to be transferred to your NPS account. These transactions can be executed via online banking as well. You can find out more about the points-of-sale on the PFRDA website. The NPS is the most ideal long-term pension vehicle available to Indian investors that provides tax breaks as well.
