Opportunity Loss

Negligence in claiming dividends and redemption proceeds is an opportunity loss by sitting on idle cash...

I had invested in UTI Master Equity Plan 1992, till date I haven't received any warrant. How should I redeem it?
— Kiran Bharde

UTI Master Equity Plan 1992 was redeemed on March 31, 2002 and its redemption NAV was Rs 14.88. You can claim your money by contacting UTI Infrastructure Technology and Services Limited. They have branches across country which can be located at http://www.utiitsl.com.

It is advisable that an investor claims the dividend as well as sales proceeds at the earliest, because not claiming it leads to an opportunity loss. Supposing your redemption proceeds were equal to Rs 1,000 on March 31, 2002; had you invested the proceeds in Sensex on April 1st 2002, it would have amounted to Rs 5,643 by now.
