Beware of Catching a Peak

Investing in lumpsum will put you at risk of catching a peak. Spread your investments over a few months…

I want to make 2 investments of Rs 9 lakh each. The timeframe is 6-8 years for one investment and 9-11 years for the other. Is a hybrid fund the right choice for me?
- Daljit Arora

Yes, equity-oriented hybrid funds, commonly known as balanced funds, would be an excellent choice. They will provide returns with stability. The only thing you need to be careful about is that you would run the risk of catching a market peak if you invest in lumpsum. Hence, we would advise you to spread your investments over the next 12 months.
