No Switching Fee

Funds don’t charge a switching fee, but most equity funds levy an exit load on redemptions within 1 year…

Which fund house in India does not charge a switching fee if I switch between two funds of the same house? - Deepak Jain

None of the fund companies charge a switching fee. However, when you invest in an equity fund and redeem within 1 year, the fund company will levy an exit load. All fund houses levy such an exit load on equity fund investments redeemed within 1 year.

But in the case of debt funds, no such exit load is levied. If it is there in some specific cases, it will be for redemptions made in a very short period. So if you invest in a debt fund and move your money to an equity fund, there won't be any charge or fee to incur.
