Market-related Risks

All market-related instruments come with risks. Here’s where you should invest if you can't bear risks

I have been investing in some mutual funds for the past 4-5 years. Whenever the markets go down, the NAV of the funds also go down. Instead of earning returns, I have been facing losses. What should I do?

Every market-related investment vehicle comes with a certain amount of risk. While you can't escape risks if you want to invest in equities, you can lessen the risk by ensuring that you don’t invest in lump sum. Invest regularly via the SIP route in well-performing mutual funds. Equity mutual funds don’t guarantee any kind of returns. If you're a conservative investor who can't bear the market’s gyrations and seek guaranteed returns, you should invest in bank recurring deposits. Recurring deposits would be more ideal for you as you’ll never face any kind of loss in them.
