Go Long with Equities

Invest in equity funds for the long run via SIPs. Avoid equity if you don’t have time on your hand…

Is this a good time to invest in mutual funds or should I invest continuously through SIPs?
-Parshuram

We have always advised investors to invest regularly in a disciplined manner via systematic investment plans (SIP) when they're investing for the long run. If you're investing for 1 – 1.5 years, then you would be under pressure, especially if the markets fall down by 5 – 10 per cent. Hence, if you're investing for the short-term, avoid equity.
