I’m planning to add ING Global Real Estate fund to my portfolio. Please give your opinion about it.
-Rama Krishna
ING Global Real Estate is an interesting fund, which has done very well. The fund was launched after the global housing crisis of 2007 was over, and hence has not seen any major blow-up. The fund has been further helped by the fact that its underlying investment also has a reasonable rental income in it, which has firmed up the prices of the stocks it holds. We don’t have an Indian fund that provides this kind of a diversification by building on quality real estate holdings. In that sense, this fund can give your portfolio a meaningful income-based diversification.
