I had invested in the ICICI Prudential Indo-Asia fund in 2005. In the same year, I had invested in Kotak Indo World Infrastructure after about 6 months. I invested Rs 10,000 each in these funds, but the value is around Rs 7,000 now. My investment horizon is of around 20 years. Should I stay invested in these funds or not?

We would advise you to redeem your investments from both of these funds. Your investments in ICICI Prudential Indo-Asia should be moved to ICICI Prudential Dynamic fund, which is a diversified equity fund; and your money in Kotak Indo-Global Infrastructure should be moved to Kotak 50. This will give your investments greater diversification. Remember to review your investments at least once a year. In the future, don’t opt for speciality or thematic funds; invest in generic, diversified funds instead.
