Diversify Across AMCs

Don’t invest in too many funds from the same AMC. It is important to diversify across fund houses

I am investing in SIPs for 15 years. Rs 3,000 in Reliance Growth, Rs 2,000 in Reliance Regular Savings Equity, Rs 1,000 in DSPBR Top 100 and Rs 500 in Reliance Gold Savings. Are these funds good to continue investing in?

You have way too much of exposure to one asset management company (AMC). From four schemes, three are from Reliance Mutual Fund. Reliance Growth was a chart topper once upon a time but has faltered over the years. We suggest you replace that fund with another good one from the same category. You can consider IDFC Premier Equity or BSL Dividend Yield Plus. The other schemes are fine. The lesson that you can learn is to track the performance of the funds that you invest in at least once a year and analyse their progress vis-à-vis their peers and relevant benchmark.
