Liquid Debt Funds

Here are the kinds of debt funds you can invest in if you are looking for liquidity in your investments

I mostly invest in equity mutual funds. I have been told to include debt funds in my portfolio. I would like to know the best short- and long-term debt funds to invest in. My primary aim for debt funds is to enable me to get the money when I require even when the equity market is not doing well and the returns should at least match the bank fixed deposit. — Shankar Raju

Every portfolio must have a mixture of equity and debt. The actual percentage allocation will depend on the risk profile and investment tenure of the individual.

If you are looking for liquidity with your debt investments; you should consider a short-term debt fund or a liquid fund. But do note that funds do not provide a guaranteed return like a fixed deposit does, though they are more tax efficient.

On our website, on our home page, you can look at the listing of the various debt fund categories and pick up a good fund from the category that suits you best.
