Investing For Child

To invest over the long-term for your child, choose good large-cap or balanced funds…

I want to invest for my 1 year old daughter. Which will be the best option for me?

Since you are looking to invest for your child, this will be a long-term investment of around 18-20 years. We would suggest you to invest in a good large-cap or balanced fund, especially since this is your first investment. You can invest in Franklin India Bluechip or ICICI Prudential Focus Bluechip, both of which are good large-cap funds. If you want to go for a balanced fund, pick one from DSP BlackRock Balanced, HDFC Prudence or Birla Sun Life 95. Invest in 1-2 of these funds via SIPs and check the performance of your funds on a yearly basis.
