If you haven’t invested in tax saving funds, you should consider them before the DTC comes into effect…

I am 30 and have been investing in mutual funds for the past few years. I want to start a monthly SIP for Rs 15,000. Please suggest funds that I can invest in?

If you have not invested in tax planning funds, you should consider investing in them to take advantage of the tax deductions that you can claim on investments and also benefit from equity exposure. These funds have a three-year lock-in and are good to invest in to max the Rs 1 lakh limit that one can invest for. There are six more months to go before the tax benefits on investments in these funds end with the introduction of the new tax code. You can consider investing in Canara Robeco Equity Tax Saver or Religare Tax Plan to invest in, which have a proven track record and history.
