Just the way one does not start stocking vegetables because their prices fall; one should not invest because the market indices have had a fall. One should invest with a financial goal and not based on the market conditions alone. Considering the way the stock markets are behaving in recent times, long-term investors can consider investing in balanced funds such as HDFC Balanced or HDFC Prudence. In the short-term also aggressive investors can consider balanced funds, however, if you are not comfortable taking risks consider investing in monthly income plans which have a 10-15 per cent equity exposure.
