Dump Inconsistent Performer

Exit BSL Equity, which is a multi-cap fund and hasn't been performing well enough…

I started an SIP in BSL Equity Fund in February 2010 for five years. This fund is not performing well anymore, should I stop the SIP?

Fund selection at the time of investment is very crucial. When selecting a fund to invest in, the performance history and track record is important. BSL Equity is a multi-cap fund which has not been a consistent performer. You would be better of investing in funds such as HDFC Equity or Quantum Long Term Equity. Both fall in the ‘Equity: Multi Cap’ category and have been good performers. You should consider stopping the SIP in BSL Equity and start a fresh one from any of the suggested two funds.
