Lump Sum To SIP

Invest your lump sum amount in a liquid fund & transfer it systematically to equity funds…

I have a lump sum of Rs 80,000 lying idle. I have recently taken up investing in HDFC Prudence and HDFC Top 200 for a total SIP of Rs 6,000 which gets deducted monthly from the Rs 80,000. I wonder where to invest the amount that remains after the SIP has been deducted every month.

Initiating an SIP in HDFC Prudence and HDFC Top 200 is a good choice and you should continue investing this way. As for the lump sum; you can consider investing it in a liquid fund and instruct systematic transfer from the liquid fund to both these funds for better realisation of the lump sum instead of a bank account.
